Ask the STN | How to keep the stoma pouch dry during showers?

In this video Jan, Omnigon's Stomal Therapy Nurse (STN), shares some tips to avoid the fabric on your pouch from being wet or damp after a shower especially during these cold winter months.

For ostomates who can change their pouch after every shower it is not a problem, but if you don't have that ability here are some tips you can try:

- Use a hairdryer, on a low setting, for a short period of time to dry off the fabric.
OR
- Pop a shower cap over your pouch with the elastic sitting behind the pouch to keep most of the water off during your shower.
