Ask The Doctor: What Medications Should NOT Be Taken With CBD?
Hi, everyone, I'm Dr. Dan Stein. Our next question is, what medications should not be taken with CBD? Well, one thing that comes to mind has to do with the immune system. Remember, CBD is a potent anti inflammatory, it oftentimes reduces immune system activation. And that can be a problem if you want the immune system to be revved up for a specific reason. In cancer patients being treated with immunotherapies, we want the immune system to be overactive to fight those cancer cells. So using CBD in that setting may be counterproductive. So for now, I think that in general, the recommendation that I give most patients in that situation is hold off on CBD, if you are using immunotherapies for cancer care, and certainly you can ask your oncologist or cancer doctor about what medication specifically they're using and if they depend on the immune system to be over activated. Thanks again, for your questions. Please subscribe, and john and all the folks in United patients group. Thanks again for allowing me to be part of the program.
