3-D tumor organoid for drug discovery for retinoblastoma | Research Impact

World’s first innovation of 3-D tumor organoid for drug discovery for retinoblastoma have been invented by Assoc. Prof. Rossukon Kaewkhaw, Ph.D., Director of Program in Translational Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. The attempt of this research is to test many thousands drug cancers to find the best ones that can treat effectively to the retinoblastoma in sick kids for reducing the chance of losing their visions, eyes, or even their lives.

ครั้งแรกของโลกกับนวัตกรรมการสร้างโมเดลก้อนเนื้อมะเร็งจำลอง 3 มิติในห้องปฏิบัติการ ซึ่งเป็นผลงานการวิจัยของ ผศ.ดร.รสสุคนธ์ แก้วขาว ผู้อำนวยการหลักสูตรเวชศาสตร์การแปล คณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ซึ่งในการทดลองนี้ จะทดสอบยาที่ใช้รักษาเซลล์มะเร็งจอประสาทตาในเด็กเพื่อจะย่นระยะเวลาในการรักษา ทำให้สามารถรักษาได้อย่างรวดเร็ว และลดโอกาสการสูญเสียการมองเห็น ดวงตา หรือแม้กระทั่งเสียชีวิต
