पिट्युटरी ग्रंथी ही आपल्या मेंदूच्या तळाशी आणि साधारण अनुनासिकचा जो भाग आहे त्याच्या वरच्या कवटीच्या भागाच्या वर असते. अर्थात, अशा पिट्युटरी ग्रंथीचे ट्यूमर आहेत ते मेंदूला नुकसानदायक करतात . ह्या ट्यूमरमुळे साधारणपणे डोकेदुखी किंवा दृष्टीवर परिणाम होणे , शरीराच्या हार्मोन लेव्हल मध्ये बदल होणे , किंवा अगदी लैंगिकसमस्या निर्माण होणे या पद्धतीचे त्रास होऊ शकतात. साधारणपणे, पिट्युटरी ग्रंथीचे ट्युमरसाठी शस्त्रक्रियां म्हणजेच नाकावाटे इंडोस्कोपीची शस्त्रक्रिया केली जाते. त्याचबरोबर काही वेळा रेडिएशनथेरपी , हार्मोनल थेरपी आणि मेडिसिन्स यांचासुद्धा वापर केला जातो.
