One of the most common symptoms after Breast Cancer Surgery is numbness of the arm and armpit. Understandably people often assume this may be the start of Lymphoedema, which is typically not the case.

I'm a big believer that Education during Breast Cancer Treatment creates a sense of control for the person going through it. So explaining this side effect of Breast Cancer Surgery is another important topic.

In this video I explain why the (Upper Inside of the) Arm and Armpit often go numb following Breast Cancer Surgery. I also discuss the important fact that this is PERIPHERAL nerve tissue - which means for the large majority of people - it will grow back. I talk about the typical timeframe it takes for this nerve tissue to get feeling back and what it feels like when it does!
