Transcript:
While bone cancer can happen in any bone, anywhere in the body, it occurs most often in the long bones of the arms and legs.
Bone pain from cancer usually starts as a dull or deep ache in a bone, or an area near a bone. In the beginning, you may only feel the discomfort at night, or when you are active. As the cancer grows, however, pain usually becomes more persistent and distressing.
Such pain is the most noticeable symptom. Others signs may include the following.
Swelling
The area where you're feeling pain is likely to start showing signs of swelling. A lump or mass may even appear over the painful part of your body.
Fractures
Cancer weakens a bone, which may lead to an unusually easy fracture. The break is likely to happen in the area that has been painful.
Decreased Mobility
If the location of the tumor is near a joint, it may restrict normal movements, or it could make such movements difficult or painful.
Other symptoms that are likely to occur from bone cancer include unintended weight loss and difficulty breathing.
You should talk with your doctor if youโre experiencing one or more of these symptoms. It's important, of course, to identify the cause and receive any necessary treatment as soon as possible.
The purpose of this video has been to provide quick, basic answers to the question, "What does bone cancer pain feel like?"
