Typically, fit patients are treated with bortezomib-thalidomide-dexamethasone (VTD) induction prior to stem cell transplantation and lenalidomide maintenance. Upon relapse, treatment options are decided based on the patient’s treatment history. For patients who are transplant-ineligible, lenalidomide-based or bortezomib-based regimens are commonly used. This interview took place at the 63rd ASH Annual Meeting and Exposition congress in Atlanta, GA.
