Even though the Vietnam war ended decades ago, there are still new laws affecting veterans that served there. If you served in the seas around Vietnam and have been denied VA disability, new laws passed in 2019 may help you out. Veterans that served in ships but were never ‘boots on the ground’ now qualify for the same Agent Orange disability claims as other Vietnam vets. That means that if you were a sailor in the Vietnam War and you suffer from any of these conditions, the VA will grant you a service connection just by proving you were there at the right time.

There are tens of thousands of veterans that are eligible now but weren't before. Many veterans may have even been denied benefits and they can now re-apply or appeal because they were part of the Blue Water Navy.
