Skin Cancer, Lower Eyelid Wide Excision & Reconstruction under Nerve Blocks | Part 1: Planning
Skin Cancer, Left Lower Eyelid, Wide Excision & 3-D Reconstruction under Nerve Blocks (Instructional Video for Doctors)
Fatima (not her real name), an elderly female patient from Sulu, planned to travel by Ferry boat to Zamboanga to have her skin cancer removed. Unfortunately, we already left Zamboanga on the day that she planned of going. She decided to see me in Manila instead.
She had her skin cancer successfully removed with the resulting big defect reconstructed under nerve blocks.
Her history started 5 years ago as small pigmented lesion on the left lower eyelid. It rapidly grew in size 2 years later with ulcer formation the center creating a crater.
A biopsy was done which revealed a skin cancer. Because of the Pandemic, she wasn't able to have it removed.
The lesion progressively grew in size to involve the whole lower eyelid and the upper part of the midface.
Please view the video from the evaluation to the planning, anesthesia (nerve blocks), surgical excision, reconstruction & immediate postoperative result.
Our gratitude to Dr. Anna Lissa Ruste-Chan of Medispa in Zamboanga for helping the patient.
Thank you for your continuing support and prayers.
