Scientists have discovered what makes sleeping breast cancer cells wake up in the lungs, and a drug that can potentially stop this from happening
At the Institute of Cancer Research in London, funded by Breast Cancer Now, they discovered that aging mice have high levels of a protein called PDGF-C in their lungs which can wake up sleeping or dormant cancer cells so they start to grow again
In this video, I'll explain the science behind the study, tell you more about the drug Imatinib that stopped the cancers growing, and explain what this means for you in the future
