THE MASSEL-CRUICKSHANK BREAST CANCER PATIENT ASSISTANCE FUND- The Massel-Cruickshank Breast Cancer Patient Assistance Fund is the first fund of its kind designed to make a difference of those living with breast cancer by helping with financial hardships stemming from diagnosis and treatment. Funds raised can be used for a range of expenses including wigs and prostheses to childcare, parking and anti- nausea medication. The fund grew from Dr. Moira Cruickshank's own experience with breast cancer. Following her battle she suggested, and it was decided, that monies raised at the annual Massel Family golf tournament would be used for the fund. Since 2004 the project has grown to include Braz for the Cause and Fling 'em for Breast Cancer Gala. In partnership with the London Health Sciences Centre and the London Regional Cancer program, the Massel-Cruickshank Breast Cancer Patient Assistance Fund has raised more than $500,000 making a difference in the lives of those in need.
