Katie Peterson was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in 2009, on the same day she found out she was pregnant with her third child. Six years later, Katie was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer (MBC). Each chemotherapy treatment was expensive, and Katie needed them almost weekly. The cost added up quickly and even though insurance covered most of the bills, she was still responsible for meeting the annual deductible.
