Dr. Anne Dancey and Dr. Ruth Waters, consultant plastic surgeons trained in the U.K., are reconstructive surgeons who perform microsurgical breast reconstruction such as DIEP flap. They are also specialist in the care of lymphedema for breast cancer patients through the intricate surgery they perform to help correct the symptoms.

They address the concerns breast cancer patients have of getting lymphedema. Dr. Dancey points out lymphedema is something that can happen soon after breast surgery or years later.

Dr. Waters explains some of the specific signs patients should look for and what next steps are for treating lymphedema.
