Mouth ulcer and mouth cancer are entirely different . Mouth ulcer will heal but mouth cancer will not heal . And in most cases mouth cancer can be preceded by mouth ulcer. Can a mouth ulcer be an indication for mouth cancer? Yes, A mouth ulcer could be a starting point to mouth cancer. If there is a ulcer lasting for 2-3 weeks , then it's a warning sign that it could be mouth cancer.
