During a routine checkup, Grayson’s pediatrician noticed the two-year-old’s abdomen was swollen. After ordering tests, results showed the presence of a Wilm’s tumor, a rare kidney cancer that primarily affects children. Grayson was sent to Loyola where he underwent surgery to remove his kidney and the baseball-sized tumor. He is now receiving weekly chemotherapy infusions as part of his treatment. His prognosis is excellent—thanks to Loyola’s top-notch pediatric oncology program. You can be a hero for children like Grayson by joining us at the Health, Hope & Heroes 5K Run/Walk to benefit pediatric health programs at Loyola University Health System.
