Grant's Cancer Survival Story: Beating Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

In the spring of 2009, Grant McTaggart began his fight against Philadelphia Chromosome Positive Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a condition in which less than 50% of those inflicted survive. Following diagnosis, Grant began an arduous 32 months of grueling chemotherapy treatment at Texas Children's Cancer Center. With ****istance of multiple therapies and the clinical trial of a drug, Gleevecยฎ, he gradually recovered. His last round of chemotherapy was August of 2012. Thanks to Texas Children's Cancer Center, Grant is now living the life of a healthy six-year-old kindergartener.He loves baseball and spending time with his best friend and resilient big sister, Claire.
