Eye melanoma
Eye melanoma is a type of cancer found in cells that produce melanin. Melanoma of the eyes usually does not cause symptoms or early signs. Treatment for some eye melanomas may not affect your vision, but major eye melanoma often results in loss of vision. White people are at higher risk of developing eye cancer than people of other races. People with blue eyes or blue eyes are at greater risk for eye melanoma.
Ultraviolet light exposure from the sun or from bedsheets may increase the risk. Some genetic mutations can also increase the chance of eye cancer. During an angiogram of the eye, a colostomy is a condition where blood vessels in and around the tumor (angiogram) are removed from the eye.
