Endoscopic sinus debridement is a routine procedure done along with an office visit to treat post-sinus surgery patients. It is a short procedure, lasting only a few seconds to minutes, where a rigid scope that looks like a silver straw is placed through the nose along with suction instruments or grabbing instruments to remove debris from the sinus cavities. Most often this procedure is performed repeatedly following sinus surgery to aid in healing and discourage the formation of scar bands. It can also be done to help treat sinus infections in patients where the sinuses have previously been surgically openned.

The procedure is not painful, but rather slightly uncomfortable. This procedure is performed on various ages from pediatrics to geriatrics.

If you or someone you know suffers from sinusitis, please contact our office for more information or an appointment at 402-778-5250!
