Stage 0 cervical cancer is confined to the cervix surface without growing into deeper tissues. This stage is also called carcinoma in situ (CIS), or high grade Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia (CIN3). According to International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) staging system, Stage 1 Cervical Cancer is confined within the cervix without spreading.
