Paisley Morrison-Johnson was born with an adult-sized enlarged tongue caused by a rare genetic condition called Beckwith Wiedemann Syndrome.

She was unable to breathe on her own for the first week of her life. She struggled to eat and needed a feeding tube in her stomach for six months since her tongue was more than twice the size of her mouth.

Doctors feared she would choke to death on her own oversized tongue so she was intubated after being born to help her breathing. She was also given support breathing for the first week of her life.

The tongue grew back out after the first surgery. after her second reduction, Paisley can now smile for the very first time. Doctors are hopeful she won't need further surgery

The now 16-month-old will now be able to speak her first words after having more than 6 inches of muscles removed.

Paisley's parents, Madison Kienow, and Shannon Morrison-Johnson say that her personality has been transformed, she smiles all the time and she now make sounds which is a HUGE achievement.
